Revanth Reddy Urges PM Modi for All-Party Meet on Lok Sabha Seat Expansion and Women’s Quota

Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling for a national political consensus on increasing the number of seats in the Lok Sabha.

In his letter, Reddy proposed a hybrid model for seat expansion and strongly advocated for the immediate implementation of the Women’s Reservation (Quota) without linking it to the proposed increase in legislative seats.

Highlighting the significance of the issue, the Telangana CM emphasized that such a critical reform carries far-reaching implications for India’s democratic future. He stressed the need for broad-based consultations, transparency, and inclusive decision-making.

Reddy further urged the Prime Minister to convene an all-party meeting at the earliest, bringing together representatives from all states and political parties to deliberate on the matter and build consensus.

The letter comes amid ongoing discussions on electoral reforms and representation, especially in the context of women’s participation in legislative bodies.
