The country's fourth-highest civilian honour recognizes Rohit's exceptional contribution to Indian cricket. With this achievement, he joins an elite group of Indian cricket legends, including Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, who have also received national recognition for their services to the sport.
Rohit remains one of the most accomplished batters in world cricket, holding the record for the highest individual score in men's ODI history with his unbeaten 264 against Sri Lanka in 2014. The veteran opener has scored more than 19,000 international runs and has led India across all three formats of the game.
Under his captaincy, India lifted the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, cementing his legacy as one of the country's most successful cricket captains.
