Suvendu Adhikari Gives Police Free Hand to Uphold Law
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday chaired a meeting at the state police headquarters, Bhavani Bhavan, in Kolkata, and called on the police to take necessary measures to establish the rule of law in the state.
Addressing the police administration, Adhikari said that the police had complete freedom to take necessary decisions to maintain law and order. He warned that anyone taking the law into their own hands would not be spared.
The Chief Minister also emphasised the need for independent police action in cases involving drug abuse and crimes against women. His remarks underscored the state government's focus on strengthening law enforcement and ensuring accountability in dealing with criminal activities.
The meeting at Bhavani Bhavan comes as the state government reiterates its commitment to maintaining public safety, enforcing the law and taking firm action against offenders.
