Tamil Nadu Investment Push: Keerthana to Taiwan, Vijay to UK

Tamil Nadu investment push is set to gain further momentum as the state government prepares two major overseas initiatives to attract global companies and strengthen industrial investment.

Industries Minister Keerthana is scheduled to travel to Taiwan on September 4, while Chief Minister Vijay will lead a high-level delegation to the United Kingdom from September 10 to 16.

The proposed international outreach comes amid growing competition between Tamil Nadu and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh to attract large-scale industrial investments. The state government is seeking to position Tamil Nadu as a preferred destination for companies operating in emerging and high-technology sectors.

Keerthana to Visit Taiwan for Investor Meetings

As part of the Tamil Nadu investment push, Industries Minister Keerthana will travel to Taiwan on September 4 along with officials from the state's investment promotion agency.

Her visit comes at a time when Taiwan is hosting a major semiconductor industry conference, Semicon, bringing together companies and industry representatives involved in semiconductors, artificial intelligence and advanced chip manufacturing.

The Tamil Nadu delegation is expected to hold meetings with potential investors and representatives of major global companies.

Discussions are likely to focus on opportunities for establishing or expanding industrial operations in the state.

Focus on Semiconductors and Advanced Technology

The Taiwan visit is particularly significant because of the growing importance of semiconductor manufacturing and related technologies.

Tamil Nadu is looking to attract investment across advanced manufacturing and technology-driven industries. Engagement with Taiwanese companies could provide opportunities for collaboration in areas such as semiconductor manufacturing, electronics and associated supply chains.

The government is expected to use the visit to highlight the state's existing industrial infrastructure, skilled workforce and investment potential.

CM Vijay to Lead UK Investment Delegation

Chief Minister Vijay is scheduled to undertake his first official overseas visit since assuming office, travelling to the United Kingdom from September 10 to 16.

The Chief Minister is expected to lead a high-level delegation during the visit. The delegation will meet representatives of major industrial companies and potential investors, with the objective of encouraging them to establish or expand operations in Tamil Nadu.

The UK visit is expected to form another important component of the state's broader Tamil Nadu investment push.
