Trump Says Iran Must Not Have Nuclear Weapons, Warns of Further Action
US President Donald Trump has defended his administration’s actions against Iran, saying that preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons is a priority that previous American presidents should have addressed long ago. Trump also warned that the United States could take further action against Iran.
Speaking on Iran, Trump said, “I'm doing what should have been done by other presidents. We can't let Iran have a nuclear weapon.”
Acknowledging that his approach may not be universally popular, Trump added that many Americans, including what he described as “great patriots,” support his position.
“This should have been done a long time ago by other Presidents,” Trump said, defending the actions taken against Iran. He further stated, “We've knocked the hell out of them, and we may go a little further.”
Trump’s remarks underline his administration’s hard-line position on Iran’s nuclear ambitions and signal the possibility of further action. His comments also revive the debate over Washington’s approach to Tehran, regional security and efforts to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
The warning comes amid continuing international concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme and the broader security implications of escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.
