PM Modi Announces Expansion of UPI Usage in France, Strengthening India-France Connectivity

UPI Usage in France received a major boost as Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced further expansion of India's digital payment platform in France during his address to the Indian community in Paris.

Highlighting the growing strategic partnership between India and France, PM Modi said several initiatives are bringing the two nations closer than ever. He noted that the opening of the Indian Consulate in Marseille last year has significantly improved services and convenience for the Indian diaspora.

The Prime Minister also welcomed the recent introduction of visa-free airport transit facilities for Indian nationals at French airports, making travel easier for students, professionals, and tourists.

PM Modi emphasized ongoing cooperation in education, including mutual recognition of academic qualifications and the establishment of French university campuses in India. These initiatives are expected to create new opportunities for students and strengthen people-to-people connections.

A key announcement was the expansion of UPI services across France. According to PM Modi, the move will enable instant India-France connectivity and seamless cross-border digital payments, further enhancing economic and technological collaboration between the two countries.

The Prime Minister said these efforts reflect the shared commitment of India and France to deepen bilateral relations across sectors such as technology, education, mobility, and digital innovation.
