US Secured Safe Passage for 100 Million Barrels of Oil, Trump Announces

US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States successfully secured the passage of more than 100 million barrels of oil through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz after authorizing a secret military operation to protect commercial shipping.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that he had directed the US military last month to carry out a confidential mission aimed at safeguarding oil tankers and commercial vessels navigating the narrow waterway, one of the world's most critical energy transit routes.

According to Trump, the operation enabled over 200 commercial ships to travel safely through the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring uninterrupted oil supplies to global markets. He described the mission as a major success for US military and economic interests.

The US President further asserted that the United States, and not Iran, effectively controls the Strait of Hormuz. He claimed that Iran's military capabilities have been diminished and that its economy has suffered significant setbacks.

"The United States of America controls the Strait of Hormuz — not Iran," Trump wrote, adding that more than 100 million barrels of oil had successfully reached international markets as a result of the operation.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most strategically important maritime chokepoints, with a significant portion of global oil exports passing through the waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea.

Trump's remarks are expected to draw international attention amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and continued concerns over global energy security and maritime navigation. :::
