An entertaining contest is brought to an end.An encouraging second-half performance from both sides as they close out their respective UEFA Nations League campaigns, which have been tinged with disappointment. Southgate’s men showed mettle to perform as they did having gone 2-0 down, but the visitors were still able to cause England problems after going behind with three goals in quick succession.
England coach Gareth Southgate said,”As a group, they’ve really come together this week. It’s been a tough period for them. They’ve grown. We’re going to a World Cup – at some point, you’re going to be exposed to pressure. This week we’ve learnt a huge amount. They’ve had to step forward and, as a group, come closer together.”
Germany coach Hansi Flick said ,”It was a good test. There are a lot of positives we can take from the game, but some negatives too that we will have to address. It was positive that we came back again at the end.”
