Narendra Modi Says NDA is Fully Prepared for the Biggest Festival of Democracy

Declaration by India’s Prime Minister after Election Commission declares dates of Lok Sabha election

Declaring the commencement of the “biggest festival of democracy” just a little while after the Election Commission announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sounded confident that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was fully prepared for the elections. Unveiling the stage of the political battle in the nation spread across two months, the Election Commission announced that the 18th Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases, between April 19 and June 1 2024. Nearly 97 crore voters will be exercising their Universal Adult Franchise.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Modi said his party, the Bharatiya Janta Party would be reach out to the public on the basis of its track record of good governance and service delivery across sectors.

Abki baar 400 paar”, Narendta Modi reiterated. He said, “The people of India are watching what a determined, focused and result-oriented government can do. They want more of it. That is why from every corner of India, across all sections of society, the people are chanting as one – Ab Ki Baar, 400 Paar!”

Taking a swipe at the Opposition, Modi said, “10 years ago, before we assumed office, the people of India were sensing betrayal and disillusionment, thanks to INDI Alliance’s pathetic governance. No sector was left untouched by scams and policy paralysis. The world had given up on India. From there, it’s been a glorious turnaround.”

Hailing the achievements under the BJP rule, Modi said the schemes introduced by his government have reached all parts of the country and that the emphasis of saturation has yielded great results. “We have become the fifth largest economy and crores of people have been freed from poverty,” he said.

Terming the Opposition as “rudderless and issueless,” Modi said, “All they can do is abuse us and practice vote bank politics. Their dynastic approach and attempts of dividing society are not being accepted by the people of the country any longer. Also hurting them in equal measure is their track record of corruption. People don’t want such leadership.”

“In our third term, there’s much work to be done. The last decade was about filling gaps created by those who ruled the nation for seventy years. It was also about instilling a spirit of self-confidence that India is definitely capable of being prosperous and self-reliant. We will build on this spirit further,” Modi said in another post.

The Prime Minister also stated that war against poverty and corruption will continue at an even faster pace and emphasis on social justice will be strong. “We are going to work towards making India the third largest global economy. We will further cement our effort for fulfilling the dreams of the youth,” he added.

“I can clearly see that the coming five years will be about our collective resolve of establishing the roadmap that will guide our trajectory as a nation for the next thousand years and make India the embodiment of prosperity, all-round growth and global leadership,” Narendra Modi said.
