Modi, Trump Discuss West Asia Crisis; Push for Peace and Secure Strait of Hormuz

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday, discussing the evolving situation in West Asia and its global implications.

According to official sources, the two leaders engaged in a “useful exchange of views” amid rising tensions in the region, with a shared emphasis on the urgent need for de-escalation and restoration of peace.

India reiterated its consistent position advocating dialogue and diplomacy as the primary means to resolve conflicts. Prime Minister Modi underscored the importance of stability in the region, particularly highlighting the critical role of the Strait of Hormuz in global energy supply chains.

“The Strait of Hormuz must remain open, secure, and accessible,” the Prime Minister conveyed, stressing that any disruption could have far-reaching consequences for global trade and energy markets.

The leaders also agreed to remain in close contact and coordinate efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region. The conversation comes at a time when geopolitical tensions in West Asia continue to impact global oil prices and economic outlooks.

India, as a major energy importer, has consistently called for restraint and constructive engagement among all stakeholders to prevent further escalation.
