Following the suspension of three police officers by the West Bengal government over alleged lapses in the RG Kar case, the mother of the RG Kar Medical College rape and murder victim and BJP leader Ratna Debnath made serious allegations against the state administration and college authorities.
Reacting to the development, she claimed that several individuals linked to the case had not yet been properly investigated. She alleged that those who had dinner with her daughter on the night of the incident were still not questioned and stated that only the former principal had been jailed so far.
Ratna Debnath further accused former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Health Secretary Narayanswaroop Nigam of responsibility in the matter, demanding a broader and deeper investigation into the case.
The RG Kar Medical College incident had triggered nationwide outrage, protests, and demands for justice, with political reactions continuing across West Bengal and the country.
