Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge paid a solemn tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack on its anniversary, remembering the 26 citizens who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
In a message shared on social media, Kharge said, “My humble tribute to the 26 citizens who lost their lives during the Pahalgam terror attack on this day in 2025. The nation will never forget nor forgive the sacrifices of innocent citizens.”

He expressed condolences to the bereaved families, stating that the country stands in solidarity with those who lost their loved ones in the attack. Kharge also highlighted the courage of India’s armed forces during the retaliatory operation, Operation Sindoor, praising their “unbridled determination and fortitude.”
The Congress leader further remembered civilians living in border areas who lost their lives due to cross-border shelling, emphasizing that their sacrifices remain deeply etched in the nation’s conscience.
Reiterating India’s collective stance against terrorism, Kharge said, “The spirit of India stands unbroken, resolute and united against every act of terrorism.”
The Pahalgam attack, carried out by Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba in Jammu and Kashmir, had triggered nationwide outrage and led to a strong military response from India.
