West Bengal Governor R. N. Ravi Launches 24×7 Citizen Helpline for Free and Fear-Free Assembly Elections

In a major move ahead of the upcoming two-phase Assembly elections, West Bengal Governor R. N. Ravi announced the launch of a 24×7 Citizen Helpline aimed at ensuring free, fair, and fear-free polling across the state.

According to a statement issued by the Governor’s office, the initiative follows multiple meetings held with members of the public over recent days, during which concerns were raised regarding possible pre-poll and post-poll violence in West Bengal.

The Citizen Helpline has been introduced as a direct mechanism for residents to report complaints, raise concerns, and seek assistance related to electoral intimidation or disruptions. The Governor emphasized that the measure is intended to safeguard democratic participation and bolster voter confidence during the election process.

The announcement comes amid heightened political activity in the state, with election preparedness and security remaining key focus areas ahead of voting.
