Addressing a public gathering in Dum Dum during the West Bengal election campaign, Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the ruling dispensation, alleging that under the rule of Mamata Banerjee and the Communists, the state has turned into a “state of slums.”
The Union Home Minister claimed that while several states are moving toward becoming slum-free, West Bengal has lagged behind due to what he called a lack of vision and political will. Shah further accused the Chief Minister of giving shelter to infiltrators to consolidate her vote bank, making the issue of illegal immigration a central plank of BJP’s campaign in the state.
His remarks come amid intensified campaigning over development, border security, and voter polarization as political rhetoric heats up in the run-up to the Assembly polls.
