Akhilesh Yadav Raises Questions Over New FCRA Bill

Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav has criticised the government over parliamentary deadlocks surrounding the Women's Reservation Bill, the Delimitation Bill and the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) Bill.

Yadav questioned the government's handling of protests and alleged the use of force, including lathis and tear gas shells, while raising concerns over the proposed FCRA legislation.

He also alleged that large sums of money have been moved out of India through both official and unofficial channels, questioning the government's earlier assurances on preventing the flow of Indian money abroad.

According to Yadav, the FCRA Bill could provide avenues for the government to gain greater control over institutions. He alleged that the BJP was seeking ways to "take over institutions" through the legislation.

The SP leader also levelled allegations against the BJP over land-related interests, referring to the party as a "land mafia" and claiming that land values can rise rapidly when political or religious issues become involved.

Referring to Ayodhya, Yadav alleged that faith had been used for political purposes and linked the developments there to a sharp rise in land prices.

His remarks come amid continuing political confrontation between the government and opposition over key legislative and political issues in Parliament.
