He noted that the partnership between Maharashtra and Amazon has strengthened significantly over the past decade, contributing to the state's emergence as a leading technology and innovation hub.

The Chief Minister said the discussions focused on Maharashtra's position as India's technology capital and Amazon's role in supporting the state's digital transformation journey. He also welcomed the progress made under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the state government and Amazon Web Services (AWS) at the 2025 Davos summit.
According to Fadnavis, the agreement involves an $8.3 billion AWS expansion in Maharashtra, described as Amazon's largest single-state investment commitment, which is expected to generate approximately 83,100 jobs across India.
Amazon has established a strong logistics and distribution network in Maharashtra, operating six fulfilment centres and more than 200 delivery stations. The company has also enabled over 22,000 entrepreneurs and small businesses to reach global customers through its platform, with Thane, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolhapur ranking among India's top 50 exporting cities on Amazon.
The Chief Minister also praised Amazon's environmental and social initiatives in the state. These include a ₹10 crore investment in the Vaitarna hydrobasin project aimed at replenishing 1.3 billion litres of water annually and benefiting around 700 farmers, the plantation of 300,000 trees in the Western Ghats, and a US$1.2 million investment to restore flamingo habitats around Thane Creek. He further acknowledged the company's efforts in skilling lakhs of young people for Maharashtra's future workforce.
Fadnavis expressed confidence that the partnership between Maharashtra and Amazon would continue to grow, driving investment, innovation, sustainability, and employment opportunities across the state.
