Amit Shah Raises Law and Order Concerns in West Bengal at Election Rally

By Editorial Team
Addressing a poll rally ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the state government over women’s safety and law and order situation. Shah alleged that women in West Bengal are not safe and cited incidents from Sandeshkhali, claiming that women were subjected to atrocities for years while the state leadership remained silent. He also referred to alleged incidents linked to Durgapur Medical College, RG Kar Hospital, and Kolkata Law College, questioning the state government’s response. Further criticizing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Shah said she should be “ashamed” for earlier remarks suggesting that women should avoid stepping out after 7 PM, calling it inappropriate in the context of women’s safety and freedom.
