Celebrity couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli shared with everyone the happy news of the birth of their second child. Rumours about Sharma’s second pregnancy were doing rounds for quite some time, though the couple never officially admitted to them.
On February 20, the two of them in a joint statement, announced the arrival of the little one on Instagram.
Baby Akaay was born on February 15
The couple named their baby boy Akaay who was born on February 15. They wrote, “With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay, Vamika’s little brother into this world! We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time. Love and gratitude, Virat & Anushka.”
Flood of congratulatory messages for the happy parents
Soon after the post, several celebrities reached out with congratulatory messages for the couple in the comment section. Among them were Sonam Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Ranveer Singh, Rakul Preet Singh, and Shweta Bachchan among others.
Some news sources did report about Anushka Sharma’s second pregnancy that she kept hidden all along. “Anushka is expecting her second baby. Like the last time, they will formally share the news with the world at a later stage,” a source in the know had informed.
For the greater part of the time, Anushka stayed away from being spotted by paparazzi by avoiding all sorts of public appearances.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli were married in 2017 in an intimate ceremony in Italy after being in a relationship for some years. They welcomed their first child, daughter Vamika, on January 11, 2021.
