Asian Games 2026 Women’s Squash Bronze: India Secures Podium Finish
Asian Games 2026 Women’s Squash Bronze medal has been secured by India after the women’s squash team produced a fighting performance against Hong Kong in the semifinal. India went down 1–2 in a closely contested tie but finished the campaign with a well-earned bronze medal at the Asian Games 2026.
The Indian women’s squash team entered the semifinal after assuring itself of a medal with a 2–0 victory over Singapore in the quarterfinal. Tanvi Khanna and Anahat Singh had delivered the wins that took India into the last four.
The semifinal against Hong Kong was another closely fought contest, with India showing determination across all three matches. Although the team could not secure a place in the final, the bronze medal added another podium finish to India's impressive squash campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Asian Games 2026 Women’s Squash Bronze After Hong Kong Semifinal
The Indian women’s squash team faced Hong Kong in the semifinal with a place in the final at stake. The tie began with Anahat Singh taking on Chan Sin Yuk.
Anahat fought hard throughout the contest but eventually suffered a narrow 2–3 defeat. The Indian youngster had opportunities to close out the match, but Chan Sin Yuk held her nerve to give Hong Kong an early advantage. Reports noted that Anahat had four match points but was unable to convert them.
With India trailing, Tanvi Khanna stepped onto the court against Lee Ka Yi. Tanvi produced an impressive response, defeating Lee 3–1 to bring the semifinal level at 1–1.
The result meant that the entire contest came down to the third match.
Joshna Chinappa’s Battle in the Decider
Veteran Indian squash player Joshna Chinappa faced Ho Tze Lok in the decisive match.
Joshna battled against her Hong Kong opponent but eventually went down 0–3. The result gave Hong Kong a 2–1 victory in the semifinal and ended India's hopes of reaching the final.
Despite the semifinal defeat, India had already secured a place on the podium by reaching the last four. The team therefore finished the Asian Games 2026 women’s squash competition with the bronze medal.
India’s Road to the Squash Bronze Medal
India's journey to the Asian Games 2026 Women’s Squash Bronze began with a strong quarterfinal performance against Singapore.
The Indian team won the quarterfinal 2–0. Tanvi Khanna opened the tie with a hard-fought 3–1 victory over Wai Iynn Au Yeong. She recovered strongly after losing the second game and eventually secured the match.
Anahat Singh then produced a dominant 3–0 victory over Wai Yhann Au Yeong to seal India's place in the semifinals.
