Bart De Wever Invites PM Modi to Brussels in December
Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Brussels in December, expressing his hope that the Indian leader will attend the occasion of the signing of the European Union-India Free Trade Agreement.
Addressing Prime Minister Modi during his visit to New Delhi, De Wever said he looked forward to welcoming Modi to Brussels and potentially Antwerp, describing the opportunity to receive the Indian Prime Minister on an official visit as a βgreat honour.β
De Wever said Modiβs visit would provide an opportunity for the two leaders to continue their discussions and further strengthen bilateral ties between India and Belgium.
βIndia and Belgium have a shared history that reaches back centuries. Today, we have shown that we also share a future,β De Wever said.
Highlighting the growing relationship between the two countries, the Belgian Prime Minister said he had come to New Delhi with the belief that the strongest phase of India-Belgium relations was still ahead.
βAfter our conversation today, I am even more convinced of that,β he added.
