Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israeli forces have carried out targeted operations against the Hezbollah, intensifying military actions in the region. In a statement shared on social media, Netanyahu claimed that Israeli forces eliminated Ali Youssef Kharshi in Beirut, describing him as a close aide and personal secretary to Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem. The Israeli military, through the Israel Defense Forces, also conducted a series of overnight strikes across southern Lebanon. According to the statement, the operations targeted multiple sites allegedly used for transferring weapons, including rockets and launchers, along with storage depots and Hezbollah command centers. Netanyahu emphasized that the strikes were part of Israel’s broader strategy to counter threats against its civilians. “Whoever acts against Israeli civilians will be struck,” he stated, reaffirming Israel’s commitment to continuing operations until security is restored in northern regions of the country. The developments mark a further escalation in tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, raising concerns over regional stability and the potential for wider conflict in the Middle East.
