BJP’s youth wing leader arrested after drugs recovered from her car. BJP youth leader Pamela Goswami on Friday evening was arrested by New Alipore police after cocaine recovered from her car. BJP leader Prabir Dey was too arrested along with Pamela Goswami.
According to sources, Pamela on Friday after was traveling from Alipore NR Avenue. Her security guard was also with her. Police after getting information from sources went for search operation at her car. Near about 100 grams of cocaine was recovered from Pamela’s car which cost few lacs.
Police is investigating on the matter. Police wants to get the information whether she was supplying those cocaine to someone. Whether she is involved with big gang or not.
Sources say before entering politics, Pamela Goswami was an airhostess and had also acted in some Bengali television serials.
BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya reacting on the issue said,”Though I don’t know the matter properly, but the truth should revealed. Whether she was involved in this case or cocaine was placed in her car without her knowledge”.
Expressing her doubt, BJP’s Hooghly MP Locket Chatterjee said there were many incidents in which our party workers were falsely framed. “The police planted arms and other contraband items to frame false charges against our workers. I am not fully aware of Goswami’s incident. If it happened really, it is condemnable,” she said.
TMC leader and State Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya said the incident was a shameful event. “We saw before how BJP functionaries were involved in infant trafficking cases. Police should conduct a thorough probe into the incident,” she said.
