BRICS Summit 2026 received strong praise from Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, who described India's diplomacy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an expression of the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, or “the world is one family.”

Seth said the summit demonstrated India's commitment to promoting peace, development and international cooperation. He particularly highlighted the Delhi Declaration, which, according to him, reflected a united position among participating countries against terrorism.

The MoS Defence said the unanimous condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack in the declaration represented a significant diplomatic achievement for India and a strong message against terrorism.

BRICS Summit 2026 and India’s Diplomatic Approach

The BRICS Summit 2026 provided India with an important platform to present its diplomatic priorities and engage with participating countries on global challenges.

Sanjay Seth said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's approach of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam represents a broad vision of international diplomacy. The principle, which means “the world is one family,” places emphasis on cooperation, peace and collective progress.

According to Seth, this approach was reflected in India's conduct of the BRICS Summit and its efforts to promote a peaceful environment for development.

Sanjay Seth Praises PM Modi’s Diplomacy

Seth described Prime Minister Modi's diplomatic thinking as significant in the context of India's growing engagement with the international community.

He said the objective should not simply be economic or strategic cooperation, but also the creation of conditions in which countries can pursue development in an atmosphere of peace.

The MoS Defence linked this vision with India's BRICS presidency and said the summit demonstrated the country's commitment to strengthening international cooperation.

Delhi Declaration Gets Special Mention

One of the central points in Sanjay Seth's assessment of the BRICS Summit 2026 was the Delhi Declaration.
He described the declaration as “amazing” and highlighted the fact that participating countries unanimously expressed their opposition to terrorism.
