BRICS Summit Opposition Reaction: Fadnavis Defends India’s Win
KT- BRICS Summit Opposition Reaction

BRICS Summit Opposition Reaction has triggered a strong response from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who defended India’s diplomatic achievements at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi and criticised what he described as attempts to minimise the significance of the summit.

Fadnavis said that some people tend to react negatively even when the country achieves a major diplomatic success. Referring to the Opposition’s reaction to the BRICS Summit, he argued that such criticism reflected what he called a “narrow mindset” and resentment towards the country’s achievements.

According to Fadnavis, the most significant outcome of the summit was the unanimous adoption of the New Delhi Declaration. He highlighted the fact that the declaration was supported and signed by China, Russia and the other participating countries.

BRICS Summit Opposition Reaction and Fadnavis’ Response

The BRICS Summit Opposition Reaction has become a point of political discussion following the conclusion of the major diplomatic gathering in New Delhi.

Fadnavis argued that instead of focusing on the larger diplomatic outcomes of the summit, some critics were concentrating on what he described as relatively minor issues.

He said that India's success at the summit should be viewed from a broader diplomatic and strategic perspective. According to him, the unanimous adoption of the New Delhi Declaration represented an important achievement for India, particularly because it included a clear position against terrorism.

Fadnavis Highlights New Delhi Declaration

Fadnavis identified the New Delhi Declaration as one of the most important outcomes of the BRICS Summit.

He pointed out that the declaration received unanimous support from the participating nations, including major powers such as China and Russia.

He further emphasised that the declaration’s condemnation of terrorism was particularly significant.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister described this development as a major diplomatic and strategic achievement for India.

His comments came in the context of criticism surrounding the summit and its organisation.

Fadnavis suggested that discussions about issues such as food arrangements or cultural programmes should not overshadow the broader diplomatic outcomes.

New Delhi Declaration Becomes Key Focus

The New Delhi Declaration emerged as a central element of India's BRICS Summit diplomacy.

Fadnavis said that the unanimous adoption of the declaration demonstrated India's ability to bring participating countries together around important issues. He particularly underlined the declaration's position on terrorism and its wider significance for the Global South.
