Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo netted the 700th club goal of his extraordinary career as Manchester United came from behind to beat Everton 2-1 at Goodison Park.

Manchester United’s no.7 was an early introduction at Goodison Park due to an injury to Anthony Martial.The sides were locked at 1-1 when Ronaldo joined the action, and he proved the difference-maker once more, latching on to Casemiro’s forward ball before firing low beyond Jordan Pickford to give Manchester United the lead on the stroke of half-time.

That goal proved pivotal, as Erik ten Hag’s side saw out the rest of the fixture and earned a vital three points on the road in the league.
But for Ronaldo, his finish added yet another accolade to his already glittering career.It was goal number 700 of his club career.

After another remarkable achievement, Cristiano Ronaldo shared a message on Twitter, expressing his thanks to those who have supported him over the years.

“700 club goals,” he said,“What a beautiful number we’ve achieved together! Thank you to all my teammates, coaches, clubs, family & friends and of course my fans. United we continue”

 

Cristiano Ronaldo’s team-mate for club and country, Bruno Fernandes, revealed how pleased the Reds’ squad is for Manchester United’s no.7 after yet another incredible individual achievement.

“It’s tough counting goals for Cristiano because every week it seems like a new record! Obviously, we are really happy. He’s been working hard to find this goal,”Bruno Fernandes said.

Marcus Rashford expressed his congratulations to Ronaldo on Twitter following the full-time whistle.

On Monday, at Carrington, the Reds posed for a photo with Ronaldo to celebrate his success.The 37-year-old was presented with a United shirt adorned with the number 700 on the back, and balloons decorated the changing room.
