Under the newly approved assistance, eligible athletes will receive ₹2,000 per month to help meet essential training-related expenses. The initiative is aimed at strengthening grassroots sports development and ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent promising athletes from pursuing their sporting ambitions.
The scheme will cover athletes in the Under-14, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 age categories who are training at Delhi government sports centres and stadiums.
The monthly assistance can be used towards expenses including nutrition, local transportation, sports equipment and medical requirements.
The initiative is expected to provide greater support to young athletes at the grassroots level and encourage sustained participation in competitive sports. By helping families manage recurring training expenses, the Delhi Government aims to create a stronger pathway for emerging sporting talent.
