Donald Trump Criticises Germany’s Chancellor Over Ukraine War, Immigration & Iran Policy
US President Donald Trump has sharply criticised Germany’s leadership in a post on his social media platform Truth Social, targeting the country’s handling of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War and domestic challenges. Donald Trump criticises Germany’s Chancellor over handling of the Ukraine war, immigration, energy issues, and Iran nuclear policy in a Truth Social post. In his post, Trump stated that the Chancellor of Germany should focus more on resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict, where he claimed Germany has been “totally ineffective,” and less on what he described as interference in global efforts to address the Iran nuclear issue. Trump also pointed to Germany’s internal issues, particularly immigration and energy, describing them as “broken” and in need of urgent attention. He argued that Berlin should prioritise stabilising its domestic situation instead of engaging in international policy debates that, in his view, undermine efforts to curb nuclear threats. Referring to ongoing global tensions around Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Trump emphasised that efforts to counter the threat are aimed at making the world “a safer place,” including for Germany. The remarks highlight continuing transatlantic tensions over foreign policy priorities, especially concerning the Ukraine war and nuclear diplomacy. Trump’s comments also signal his continued engagement in international political discourse through digital platforms.
