EAM Dr S Jaishankar Meets Japan FM Toshimitsu Motegi, Focus on Strategic Cooperation
External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar welcomed Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi to New Delhi and held extensive discussions covering key areas of bilateral and strategic cooperation as India and Japan move closer to celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations.

Sharing details on social media, Dr Jaishankar said the discussions focused on multiple dimensions of the India-Japan partnership, including economic security, trade, energy cooperation, supply chain resilience, shipping, technology and innovation, along with strengthening people-to-people ties.
The leaders also exchanged views on significant global and regional developments, particularly the evolving situation in West Asia and its broader implications on regional and global stability.
Highlighting the growing partnership between the two nations, Dr Jaishankar noted that the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership continues to deepen and diversify for mutual benefit as both countries expand collaboration across multiple sectors.
He also expressed anticipation for Toshimitsu Motegi's participation in the upcoming Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting, where strategic discussions among Quad nations are expected to take center stage.
The meeting comes at a significant time as India and Japan prepare to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, reflecting the strong and evolving relationship between the two Indo-Pacific partners.
