Ecuador Shock Germany, Reach FIFA World Cup Knockouts
Ecuador came from behind to beat already qualified Germany 2-1to qualify for the knockouts
.Ecuador have only reached the knockout stage once before, when reaching the Round of 16 at Germany 2006.
Ecuador registered an incredible effort against the the four-time world champions which was capped by Gonzalo Plata's 77th-minute clincher.
It is La Tricolor's second ever group qualification after a similar achievement in 2006.
Ecuadorian forward Nilson Angulo was adjudged the player of the match after scoring a fine first-half equaliser (9') and offering a real attacking threat throughout after Leroy Sane (2') had given Germany an early lead.
Germany's 11-match winning run was halted but still they advanced after winning the group.

Ivory Coast finished second with a 2-0 win over Curacao while Ecuador advanced as a top third-placed team.
After match Sebastian Beccacece, Ecuador coach said,"It’s not about what it means to me; this is for the people. The players have given them this qualification. Let them celebrate and enjoy it."
