India Launches Hub-and-Spoke International Flight Model

India has taken a major step in strengthening its aviation network with the launch of the Hub-and-Spoke model for international flights, enabling seamless global connectivity for passengers travelling from Tier-II and Tier-III cities via Delhi.

The first operations under the new model were launched from Varanasi and inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu in the presence of Union Minister of State for MSME Hansraj Vishwakarma, Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary Puneet Kansal and Airports Authority of India Chairman Vipin Kumar.

The initiative is aimed at reducing travel time while providing smoother access to international destinations through a central hub in Delhi. It is expected to enhance connectivity for travellers and boost opportunities in trade, tourism, investment and education across India's emerging cities.

The launch aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of expanding world-class aviation infrastructure and improving regional connectivity, bringing more parts of India closer to global markets and opportunities.
