Tatjana Maria sealed a stunning quarter-final comeback victory.

Tatjana Maria vs Jule Niemeier is only the third all-German Grand Slam quarter-final in the Open era.

Tatjana Maria reached her first Grand Slam semi-final with a comeback victory over Jule Niemeier at Wimbledon.

World number 103 Maria beat her German compatriot 4-6 6-2 7-5 in a high-quality encounter.

A Maria is the sixth woman in the Open era to reach a Wimbledon semi-final after turning 34.

Maria Tatjana becomes the first mother of two to reach the Wimbledon singles semi-final.

In many ways, though, it’s motherhood that has helped her achieve her dream. Maria, who has established a daily morning routine of hitting with tennis-loving Charlotte at Wimbledon’s practice facilities, is thriving with a ‘family first’ mindset.

“To be a mum, for me, is on the top of my life, so I think it helps me in tennis too, because now my priority are my kids. I mean, for sure I play tennis, I want to do my best, and, yeah, that’s all I want. But my kids are the priority,” she said.

Maria takes her daughter to a tennis lesson each morning at Wimbledon and said she “loves” to talk about being a mother in addition to being a tennis player.
“For me, that’s the most important in my life, to be a mum of my two kids. Nothing will change this,” she said.
“I’m here I’m in the semi-final of Wimbledon; it’s crazy, but I’m still a mum. After this I will go out over there and I will see my kids and I will do the same thing what I do every single day.
“I will change her Pampers, I mean, everything normal. I try to keep normal as much as possible, because that was what makes me proudest is to be a mum,”Maria added.

Maria talked about her daughter Charlotte: “She’s happy that she can stay two more days in the creche. She’s running into my arms, she’s super proud of me.”

“I am only happy that I am in a semi-final now,” Maria added.
