Martin Odegaard tapped in after Gabriel Martinelli’s shot was parried by Mark Travers to put Arsenal ahead on five minutes before sweeping in six minutes later to make it 2-0.
This was Martin Odegaard’s first top-flight brace since October 2014 for Stromsgodset vs Lillestrom, when he was 15 years old.
Odegaard is the third Arsenal player to score twice in the first 11 minutes of a Premier League match, after Kanu in October 2002 vs Sunderland and Eddie Nketiah vs Leeds in May.
William Saliba opened his Premier League account in style with a whipped strike in the 54th minute to seal victory.
Aged 21 years and 149 days old, William Saliba became the youngest Frenchman to score a Premier League goal for us since Samir Nasri in November 2008 vs Manchester United (21 years 135 days).
Saliba is the 22nd Frenchman to score a Premier League goal for Arsenal, the most of any Premier League side.
The result ensures Arteta’s side to continue 100% start with nine points out of nine, and leapfrog Manchester City at the Premier League summit for the time being.
After the match Arsenal coach Arteta said ,”I am very happy. It’s really difficult to come here and win 3-0. So credit to the boys, the way we played, especially the way we started the game and continued to play. It’s not easy and we have a good example when they played Aston Villa how different the game was and how different the game became in some parts of the second half as well. At the same time, we have to look at ourselves and in many areas we can still get much better.”
