PM Modi Celebrates Akaal Deepawali After Ram Temple Consecration

After the consecration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya earlier today, the people of the city along with visiting devotees are celebrating Akaal Deepawali today by illuminating the banks of Sarayu with hundreds of lit earthern lamps (diyas). The entire place looks bedecked as the tiny flames glow in the early winter evening. The State Irrigation department has constructed barriers along a 2 km stretch near the Sarayu in view of the event.

Narendra Modi’s Address After Pran Patishtha Ceremony

After the Pran Pratistha ceremony at the Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a subtle dig at those who opposed the temple and created roadblocks over decades by his remark that Shri Ram “is not fire but energy”.

The temple was the epicentre of a long political ferment that carried on for decades. The event was avoided by most of the opposition like the Congress, Left parties, Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party after they accused the BJP of using it as an electioneering platform for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

“Ram is not fire but energy. Ram is not a dispute but solution. Ram doesn’t belong to us alone but to everyone,” said the Prime Minister while addressing the visiting devotees as well as the nation at large.

He called out his detractors for the fearmongering that was created around building a Ram temple on the previously disputed site that would trigger violence.

“Those were the days when some people used to say that if the Ram temple is built, it would trigger violence. Such people failed to understand the sacredness of India’s social sentiments. The construction of this temple for Ram Lalla is also a symbol of peace, patience, mutual harmony, and unity in Indian society. We are witnessing that this construction is not causing any violence but rather giving birth to positive energy,” said Narendra Modi, who was the Mukhya Yajman at today’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
