England Held by Ghana in World Cup Group L Stalemate

England were held to a grueling 0-0 draw by Ghana in their FIFA World Cup Group L match at the Boston Stadium that left both nations tied at the top of the group with four points each.

England produced a thrilling attacking display in their 4-2 opening match win against Croatia.

But their performance on Tuesday was in stark contrast to that match as Thomas Tuchel’s side enjoyed overwhelming 78%, executing 589 accurate passes compared to Ghana’s 117.

But Ghana manager Carlos Queiroz deployed a 5-4-1 formation with their players employing a low block to frustrate the Three Lions.

England’s captain Harry Kane was denied service as Ghana's defence line, anchored by Jerome Opoku and Jonas Adjetey registered 43 clearances to secure a vital point.
