Fierce Fight Till the Very End: PV Sindhu Finishes as Runner-Up at Yonex French Open 2026
India’s badminton star PV Sindhu finished as the runner-up at the prestigious Yonex French Open 2026 after a spirited performance in the women’s singles final against South Korea’s An Se-young at the Arena Grand Paris. The two-time Olympic medallist won the opening game 21-16 but could not sustain her momentum as the reigning Olympic and world champion fought back to claim the next two games 11-21, 12-21 in a 61-minute contest.
Sindhu missed the opportunity to secure her seventh career BWF World Tour title and her second title of the season following her Japan Open triumph in July. Despite the defeat, her run to the final highlighted her competitive form on the international circuit. With this victory, An Se-young extended her winning streak to 50 matches and maintained her unbeaten head-to-head record against Sindhu at 11-0. Sindhu will look to build on her Paris campaign as the international badminton season continues.
