France President Emmanuel Macron Thanks Law Enforcement, Promises Action on Youth Concerns

French President Emmanuel Macron has thanked law enforcement personnel for maintaining public order across the country amid a difficult situation, while pledging concrete responses to the expectations of young people.

Au nom de tous, je tiens à remercier nos forces de l’ordre, mobilisées cette semaine pour assurer partout l’ordre républicain. Grâce à elles et malgré un contexte difficile, l’État a été au rendez-vous de ses missions. J’ai rencontré vendredi les syndicats lycéens et entendu les attentes légitimes de notre jeunesse. Le Premier ministre et les ministres poursuivront dès demain ce dialogue et apporteront des réponses très concrètes.

In a social media statement, Macron praised the security forces for their efforts throughout the week, saying they had helped ensure the maintenance of republican order. He added that the State had fulfilled its responsibilities despite the challenging circumstances.

The French President also highlighted his meeting with high school student unions on Friday, during which he listened to what he described as the legitimate expectations of young people.

Macron said the Prime Minister and relevant ministers would continue discussions with student representatives from the following day and work towards providing concrete responses to their concerns.
