The four-day festival blended cinema with Jammu & Kashmir’s iconic landscapes, including floating cinema screenings on Dal Lake, where timeless classics were brought back to audiences. The event also showcased a diverse selection of international films and new releases featuring prominent Bollywood actors, creating a vibrant platform for filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts.

Beyond its scenic setting, IFFJK placed strong emphasis on nurturing local talent. Aspiring writers, filmmakers and actors participated in hands-on learning opportunities designed to strengthen their skills and connect them with the wider film industry.

Reflecting on the festival, the Chief Minister ,Omar Abdullah described IFFJK as a clear declaration of intent, highlighting the vision of the J&K Film Policy. He said Jammu & Kashmir is ready to welcome filmmakers from across India and around the world, with an aim to develop a strong, year-round film ecosystem that supports visiting filmmakers while creating opportunities for local talent.

The successful conclusion of IFFJK marks an important step towards positioning Jammu & Kashmir as an emerging destination for national and international filmmaking, while empowering the region’s next generation of creative professionals.
