iGOT Karmayogi: 1.7 Crore Employees Onboard, Says PM Modi
iGOT Karmayogi has crossed a major milestone, with more than 1.7 crore government employees now onboarded on the digital learning platform, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while addressing the 20th Rozgar Mela on September 19, 2026.
The Prime Minister highlighted the role of Mission Karmayogi in developing the skills and capabilities of government employees and encouraged newly appointed recruits to continue learning, upgrade their skills and adapt to emerging technologies and systems.
At the 20th Rozgar Mela, more than 51,000 newly appointed youth received appointment letters for various government organisations. The programme was conducted across 45 locations in the country.
iGOT Karmayogi Crosses 1.7 Crore Users
Speaking to newly appointed government employees, PM Modi said that more than 1.7 crore employees have joined the iGOT Karmayogi platform.
The Prime Minister described continuous learning as an important part of government service and urged new recruits to keep improving their skills throughout their careers.
The latest figure represents an increase from earlier official data. A Parliament-related government release in August 2026 had reported more than 1.7 crore registered users on the platform, along with more than 5,600 courses and over 14.42 crore course completions.
What Is iGOT Karmayogi?
iGOT Karmayogi is the digital learning platform created under Mission Karmayogi, formally known as the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB).
The programme was approved by the Union Government in September 2020. Its objective is to move civil-service capacity building from a traditional rule-based approach towards a role-based system, with emphasis on competencies required for specific government responsibilities.
The platform provides government employees with access to courses covering domain-specific, functional and behavioural competencies.
Mission Karmayogi Focuses on Continuous Learning
PM Modi said the journey of learning does not end after a candidate enters government service. Instead, newly appointed employees need to continuously improve their skills and understand new technologies and systems.
