Prime Minister Narendra Modi held extensive bilateral talks with Netherlands Prime Minister Rob Jetten in The Hague, marking a significant milestone in India–Netherlands relations. The two leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of the growing and multifaceted partnership between the two nations.
Discussions focused on several key sectors including trade and economy, semiconductors, sustainability, maritime logistics, water management, clean energy, security and defence cooperation, and talent mobility. Both leaders also highlighted the significant opportunities emerging from the recently concluded India–European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is expected to boost trade, technology collaboration and talent exchange.

In a landmark move reflecting the strengthening momentum of bilateral ties, India and the Netherlands agreed to elevate their relationship to a Strategic Partnership and jointly unveiled a Strategic Partnership Roadmap for 2026–2030.
The leaders also witnessed the exchange of multiple agreements spanning critical sectors such as critical minerals, renewable energy including green hydrogen, mobility, education, water resources, dairy development and floriculture.
The newly signed agreements are expected to strengthen economic cooperation, accelerate technological innovation, improve skills development, expand trade opportunities and deepen people-to-people connections between India and the Netherlands.
The development marks another major step in India’s expanding global diplomatic and economic engagement, reinforcing collaboration in future-oriented sectors and sustainable growth initiatives.
