PM Modi Highlights India-Belgium Cooperation in Clean Energy and Semiconductors

Highlighting the shared priority of building a clean energy future and reliable supply chains, Prime Minister Modi said the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Renewable Energy will provide fresh momentum to bilateral sustainability cooperation.
On critical minerals, India and Belgium have decided to expand collaboration in processing and recycling, supporting efforts to build more secure and sustainable mineral supply chains.
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the complementary strengths of the two countries in the semiconductor sector. While Belgium brings advanced technological expertise, particularly through its renowned imec research institute, India offers scale and a rapidly expanding semiconductor ecosystem.
In this direction, India and Belgium will work to connect Belgium's imec with India's semiconductor ecosystem, creating opportunities for deeper technological cooperation, research and innovation.
The Prime Minister's remarks underline India's growing emphasis on strategic partnerships in clean energy, critical minerals and advanced technologies as part of its broader efforts to strengthen resilient and future-ready supply chains.
