India Win Men’s Squash Team Bronze at Asian Games 2026
India secured a bronze medal in the men’s team squash event at the 20th Asian Games 2026 after a hard-fought 1-2 semifinal defeat against Malaysia at the Nagoya Kinjo Court on Thursday.
The Indian quartet of Abhay Singh, Veer Chotrani, Velavan Senthilkumar and Suraj Kumar Chand ended their team campaign with a podium finish after Malaysia edged India in the semifinal.
Under the Asian Games team squash format, both losing semifinalists receive bronze medals, ensuring India a place on the podium.
The top-seeded Indian team had made a strong start to the competition, recording convincing 3-0 victories over China and Kuwait during the group stage. Suraj Kumar Chand provided important depth for the team during the pool matches, alongside Chotrani, Senthilkumar and Singh.
The bronze medal further strengthens India's impressive squash campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026.
India has already enjoyed several notable performances in squash at the Games. Abhay Singh won silver in the men’s singles, while Anahat Singh claimed silver in the women’s singles. India also secured a mixed doubles bronze through Velavan Senthilkumar and Joshna Chinappa.
The men’s team bronze therefore adds another medal to India's growing squash haul in Aichi-Nagoya and highlights the country's continued presence among Asia's leading squash nations.
