Iran FM Abbas Araghchi Slams ‘US Bullying’ at BRICS Meet in New Delhi

At the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi launched a sharp attack on the United States, calling for stronger unity among BRICS nations against what he described as “coercive” global practices.

Addressing delegates, Araghchi said Iran’s resistance against “US bullying” was a struggle familiar to many countries represented at the summit. He urged member nations to work together to consign such practices “to the dustbin of history.”

“Today, our nations are closer to one another than ever before, and we cannot ignore the common and dangerous challenge we all face,” Araghchi stated.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also warned against the actions of “empires in decline,” saying history shows they “will stop at nothing to arrest their inevitable fates.”

The remarks come amid growing geopolitical tensions and increasing cooperation among BRICS member nations on issues related to global governance, economic partnerships, and multipolar diplomacy.

The two-day BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, chaired by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, has brought together representatives from member and partner countries to discuss key regional and international developments.
