ISRO Chief Dr V Narayanan speaking about India’s growing space ecosystem and private sector participation

ISRO Chairman Dr V Narayanan has highlighted the government’s focus on strengthening India’s space ecosystem by encouraging greater participation from startups, companies and the private sector.

Speaking about the future of the country’s space sector, Narayanan said the development of the space economy cannot be driven by the government alone. He stressed the importance of collaboration between ISRO, the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), startups and private companies.

According to Narayanan, ISRO will provide hand-holding support, while IN-SPACe will facilitate and authorize participation by private players in space activities.

The ISRO chief said the objective is to enable startups and companies to participate in a much bigger way across India’s space ecosystem, which could help take the country’s space economy to multiple times its current level.

The push reflects India’s broader policy aimed at expanding the role of the private sector in space activities and creating a stronger ecosystem for innovation, investment and commercial opportunities.
