Jaishankar Co-Chairs Key India-Russia Commission Meeting
External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar co-chaired the 27th India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade,
Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation with Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
The meeting reviewed wide-ranging India-Russia cooperation across trade, investments, energy, fertilizers, nuclear cooperation, connectivity, technology, space and mobility.
Dr Jaishankar stressed the need to focus on implementation and measurable outcomes, with sector-specific deliverables and greater emphasis on resolving practical challenges.
He also called for stronger engagement with businesses by aligning institutional mechanisms with industry priorities, identifying bottlenecks and improving policy responsiveness.
The External Affairs Minister highlighted the importance of continuously identifying new opportunities, leveraging complementarities and supporting efforts to de-risk and diversify economic partnerships.
He expressed confidence that the meeting would further deepen practical cooperation between India and Russia across multiple strategic and economic sectors.
