Lakshya Sen: “I Gave My Best, But It Wasn’t Enough”

Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen suffered a shock defeat against USA’s Garrett Tan in the second round of the BWF Badminton World Championships in New Delhi, bringing his campaign to an early end.

Sen started strongly and won the opening game 21-19, but Tan fought back to take the second game by the same scoreline. The American shuttler then dominated the deciding game 21-17 to complete a 73-minute victory.

Reflecting on the match, Sen credited Tan for his strong performance and acknowledged that his own display was not up to the mark despite giving his best.

The defeat ends Sen’s run at the World Championships, while Tan advances to the Round of 16.
