West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visits exhibition on Legendary actor Saumitra Chatterjee’s birth anniversary. Mamata Banerjee praised Soumitra Chatterjee’s work and commitment. She revealed that she used to be a big fan of Saumitra Chatterjee. Mamata Banerjee said,” Soumitra Chatterjee was a legend for us. I saw him from my childhood. My mother used to see his movies in the night show at Bijali,Indira, Ujjala cinema halls. The way Saumitra Chatterjee dance in Jibone Ki Pabona song, I feel no other can dance like this”.
While asking to Saumitra Chatterjee’s family for any suggestions, Chief Minister said,”I don’t have anything to give. If you want then we can make a film city on his name. After Uttam Kumar’s death, his family was in tough situation. I tried to help them. I don’t know how much I helped them, but I tried to help them from the bottom of my heart”.
