Mamata Banerjee speaks in remembrance of Barun Sengupta

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday inaugurated a museum on renowned journalist and founder-editor of Bartaman.

Addressing a meeting at the inaugural event, Mamata Banerjee said that the museum will be an iconis to the world map. ” This place is going to be historic to the entire world. It will be an iconic place in world map.” In appreciation of the ace journalist, Banerjee said ,” Barun da is a stalwart in the world of journalism who is a visinionary to the fraternity of journalism which I am sorry to say has deteriorated with time. Barun da was my idol during my youth political days. He was always with me during any difficult situation.

Today a single signal from Delhi may shut mouths of reporters but such was not in Barun da’s time. I have archived all his works and pictures in this museum which hope people will like them.”
