PM Modi's Historic Address to Seychelles Assembly

Prime Minister Narendra Modi created history by becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to address an Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of Seychelles during his official visit to the island nation.

Addressing the Assembly, PM Modi congratulated the Government and people of Seychelles on the landmark occasion of the country's 50th anniversary of Independence. He highlighted the enduring friendship between India and Seychelles, describing it as a relationship built on shared democratic values, mutual trust and strong people-to-people ties.

The Prime Minister emphasized the strategic importance of Seychelles in India's Vision MAHASAGAR and reiterated New Delhi's commitment to supporting the aspirations of the Global South through inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Highlighting India's remarkable development journey, PM Modi called for expanding parliamentary exchanges and strengthening cooperation in maritime security, human resource development, climate resilience and sustainable growth.

His address reaffirmed India's commitment to deepening bilateral ties with Seychelles while promoting peace, prosperity and stability across the Indian Ocean Region.
