Murali Manohar Joshi Hails LK Advani’s Political Legacy
Former BJP National President Dr Murali Manohar Joshi has paid tribute to veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, describing him as one of India's foremost political leaders and a symbol of political integrity, principles and dedication.

In a social media post, Joshi recalled Advani's remarkable political journey, spanning from 1942 to the present day. He highlighted Advani's significant contribution to the founding of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh under the leadership of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and its emergence as India's leading political party and eventual formation of the government at the Centre.
Joshi also acknowledged the inspirational leadership of Advani and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, stating that their contributions had inspired generations of political workers to give Indian politics a new direction.
Recalling his personal association with Advani, Joshi said his first interaction with the veteran leader began in 1956 and their association has continued uninterrupted since then. Having worked closely with him for several years, Joshi said he had learned a great deal from Advani's leadership and exemplary character.
Emphasising the relevance of Advani's values in contemporary politics, Joshi observed that his commitment to political principles and authenticity was particularly important at a time when political credibility was rapidly eroding.
As Advani approaches his 100th birthday, Joshi extended his heartfelt wishes for the veteran leader's good health and long life. He expressed confidence that Advani's continued presence and guidance would remain an enduring source of inspiration for the country and future generations of political leaders.
