Piyush Goyal Pays Tribute to LK Advani’s Legacy

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal paid tribute to veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary celebrations, recalling his unwavering commitment to the Ram Mandir movement, the abrogation of Article 370 and the vision of a united India.

Speaking at the commemorative event, Goyal recalled his personal interactions with Advani and revealed that he would sometimes question the veteran leader about the physical hardships he endured while working tirelessly for the construction of the Ram Mandir.

"At times, I would even argue with him, asking, 'Why are you working so hard for the Ram Mandir? Why are you putting yourself through so much hardship and physical strain?'" Goyal said.

Highlighting Advani's determination, Goyal observed that there was a time when the construction of the Ram Mandir in India was widely considered impossible. However, Advani remained steadfast in his commitment to the cause.

Referring to the abrogation of Article 370, Goyal said that even the possibility of ending the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir and bringing the entire country under one law, one flag and one Constitution was once considered unimaginable.

He attributed these historic developments to the firm resolve, vision and dedication of senior leaders who remained committed to their ideals despite challenges.

"What we see today—the transformation of our nation—is the fulfillment of the promises made by leaders like LK Advani, who remained committed to these ideals throughout their lives," Goyal said.

Goyal's tribute highlighted Advani's enduring political legacy and his contribution to shaping the ideological journey of the Bharatiya Janata Party, while remembering the determination and leadership that helped turn long-standing political aspirations into reality.
